Desac’s slim form was carried down a semi crowed Coruscant street at a leisurely pace, green eyes half closed as he hummed a pleasant tune to the peaceful atmosphere. He was on his way back to the Jedi temple, from his weekly cantina visit. It was a pleasant pass time of his; he’d go to the cantina for a few hours and observe how the different species interacted with each other. Sometimes he would engage in chitchat with the regulars; finding out nosey information on recent happenings or as the common public liked to call it ‘daily gossip’.
Today however was an exceptional day at the cantina, they had a live band and Twi’lek dancers, not to mention all non-alcoholic drinks were on the house. He smiled as he recalled the past 3 hours. The dancers were really good, or perhaps it was just their skimpy outfits that he liked.. Regardless of the dancers, he got his favorite order of hot Dagoban bentaxne berry tea. Unfortunately his day was about to take a drastic change for the worse.
“Hey Youu, Jedaai!!” A rough voice slurred to the back of Des. Desac’s humming ceased, he slowed his pace and turned to see who had summoned his attention. He came face to face with a rather burly human, who by the looks and smell of it was sloshing drunk.
“Can I help you sir?” He asked in an apprehensive tone, eyeing the guy’s massive arms. "Don’t giiiive meh dat tone Jedaai! Now give meh all yur Creds, I need anootherr drinks.” “Uhhh.. Sorry, I don’t usually carry around credit chips..” He said sheepishly, and took a step backwards. The man didn’t say anything to that, though he didn’t walk away either. "Well, I should be going sir.. Perhaps you can set up a tab at one of the cantina’s. Urr.. Have a nice-” But Des was cut off mid sentence when the hulk of a man, grabbed him by the collar of his robes and threw him at a nearby building. Des flew side first into the metal building, hearing a crunch noise as he hit, and slid down the wall onto his hind end. He paled momentarily then regained pigmentation, apparently a couple of his ribs cracked on impact.
He couldn’t believe his luck! He was being hit up for credits.. Of all the things that could have happen today, why-?! But he couldn’t finish the thought as the angered drunk was marching up to him, ready to release another assault of punches and kicks. Time to think fast. Des put out one of his hands, and threw a force push at the mans legs, which thankfully made the guy fall backwards. Des then shoved himself to his feet, cringing a little from the pain of his broken ribs. The man, albeit being drunk, quickly regained his footing as well and in no time was charging once again at Des.
“You don’t want to hurt me or anyone else, you want to go home and take a nap..” He said persuasively, while waving a hand in front of him. "I don’t- want to hurt you? Or anyone elsse? I think I’ll go home and take a nap.” The man said somewhat questioningly, yet complied and staggered away. “Phew..” Des exhaled, grabbing his side with one of his arms. What a crappy day this turned out to be..

Walking down the steps of the temple entrance, Arwen was in a rare mood. When she had left Jaq Sytar in the Room of a Thousand Fountains, she felt strange, like a rolling knot in her stomach. Diagnoising it as nerves and maybe a break from the temple would help, she began a brisk walk out and into the streets below. She sometimes had walked from the temple when she was younger, but had rarely done so as of late. Her walk continued through the ritzy district between the Jedi Temple and the Republic Government buildings directly to the west. Sensing a slight disturbance in the force, Arwen decided to turn her line of walk directly to the south which bordered the Kelfor "red light" District. "Maybe I'll pick up a soothing Tarisian Ale." she thought. "Maybe it'll take the edge off my thoughts."

Having come a good ways down into the Coruscanti underbelly, Arwen could feel eyes watching her around every turn. This just made her smile an then frown, as she could sense their thoughts turn from mugging an beating to lustfull desires. Pulling her hood up over her face, she continued until her path crossed a male Iridonian dressed in a padawan robe coming from the other direction. He was limping slightly, holding his side. As he neared her, he withdrew, walking in the shadows hiding his face. Using the force, she manuvered a broken piece of glass that was one the ground to reflect some light onto his face so she could tell who it was. The beam caught the Iridonian square in the face, causing him to squint, but Arwen saw his emerald green eyes. "Des? Desac Vek?" Arwen questioned, with a shocked tone.

Des could feel the eyes of the drawing crowd gluing themselves onto his weakened form. Several of the people’s looks seemed belittling, some pitying. For force sakes he wasn’t some little stray puppy to be goggled at, he was a Jedi! Then again, a wounded Jedi wasn’t something just anyone got to see. Well he wasn’t going to let them stare any longer, he needed to make a quick exit, before someone else got any ideas. Clutching his side gingerly, he began to limp off in the direction of the temple, sadly it was still quite a bit ways away.
Several minuets passed as he limped along the side of the street, each new road gaining new stares from random passerbyers. He walked in the shadows whenever he was given the opportunity, as his skin colour hid him well there. The next street was crowed, filled with a variety of different people. Great.. He thought sarcastically More people to stare.. He frowned slightly, and changed his path so he would walk more in the shadowy portion of the street, with luck no one would see him. For a second he thought it worked, then a blinding light flashed him in the face, making him squint.
A female voice called his name in a shocked tone, a voice that he recognized to be a fellow member of the Jedi. He felt relief, also shame, and even embarrassment though he hid the emotions from her well. He straitened some and tried his best to walk normally over to her. “Arwen Haeva? Forgive the appearance, I was mauled by a drunkard..” He said then chuckled somewhat bitterly.
OOC: Sorry you had to double post there.. I lost my muse for a few days.. XD

(OCC. It's alright, Sorry I posted twice. Darn writers block!)
Smiling, she said "Thats alright Des. Once, I too was caught unawares wandering these same dark paths. Let me see." pointing to his side. Not waiting, Arwen gently touched his side, feeling the broken ribs and noticing his slight grimace. "Looks like you need a healer." she said, patting his side lightly with a mischievious grin. Looking past him, Arwen noticed a group of Twi'lek and Devaronian thugs approaching. "Friends of yours?" She asked with a smirk and raised eyebrow.

Des stood patiently as the female Jedi examined his wound, grimacing when she pressed on the sore areas. In the end she came to the same conclusion as he did, he needed a healer. Not immediately as the wound wasn’t life threatening, but sometime in the semi-near future. He gave Arwen an appreciative smile, but it quickly faded at Arwen’s next set of words. He could feel the foul presence nearing, and a quick look over his shoulder confirmed that there was indeed something foul heading in their direction. Des felt his heart drop. One thug just wasn’t enough was it?
“Friends? No. Though I think we’re about to get aquatinted…” He said as he shook his head in disbelief. The group was quick to target their prey, so in seconds the leader of the ‘pack’ had broken off from the group and now stood mere feet away from the two Jedi.
“Hey you’s Jedi?..” A rather bulky Devaronian said. “Yes, we are indeed Jedi.. What can we do for you, sir?” Des said hesitantly, taking a brief side-glance at Arwen, then brought his focus back on the Leader.
(OOC: GAH sorry... I couldn't come up with a reason why the thugs are picking on our charry's.. XD)

"You can't just come down here and walk around without paying a tax." said the leader, breath reeking of a gavorian beverage. "It's a public street citizen," Awren said innocently. "Why should we have to pay a tax?" "Because, little Jedai, this is our territory. We own the businesses around here." the leader said, voice getting louder as his confidence grows. "Nobody get out of paying us our cut!"

“Uh, that’s nice.. I think we’ll just be going now.. ” Des said quickly and moved to grab Arwen’s wrist, but in mid step a huge greenish-blue Twi’lek hand blocked his path. “ I don’t think you heard me right, Jedai. So I’ll say it one more time. NO ONE leaves without paying our tax. That includes puny little Jedai like you and your girly friend here." “No, I heard you.. But unfortunately I don’t have any credits. I suggest you let us pass, sentient.” Des said in a firm tone, he had taken enough for one day, he meant business. The Twi’lek lifted his hand, and took a few steps back, yet as he did so he motioned to the other thugs to step in. “Well if you won’t pay us in creds, then we’ll just take whatever else you have. Boys, its time to have a little fun. Take whatever looks valuable, git rid of them.” With broad smiles on all of their faces, the thugs began to move in, vibroblades and blasters out in soofensive positions. The two Jedi were surrounded.

Sighing, Arwen looked at Desac as the thugs slowly advanced. "You take care of the three on the right and I'll deal with the rest." Turning left, she whispered one last piece of advice. "Just don't kill anyone, Des. Unless you have no choice!" That being said, she broke down into a Enchanti basic form and executed a high kick which landed her right foot across a rather large Devaronian's jaw, sending him spinning like a top which toppled two other thugs.

“Right.” Des nodded and took a defensive stance. It would be a little more tricky evading attacks, due to his broken ribs, but he’d find a way. After all they were just street thugs, probably all bron and no brains, which meant that they were more than likely slow on their feet. That could work to his advantage.
In an instant the attack was on, a pair of fists flew in his direction. Des managed to dodge them, but in the process he aggravated his broken bones. Great.. he thought as he let out a low growl. The thugs must have noticed this, because instantly all three of them let loose a flurry of kicks and punches. Des was able to dodge most of them, however they just kept coming. As he began to tire a fist finally contacted with his jaw, the force of the blow sent him stumbling backwards, but luckily he didn’t fall over.
With one arm holding his side, Des stood facing the three. They were edging closer as the seconds passed, like predators getting ready for their kill. If he was going to survive this, he needed to act now, before they came any closer. But what to do? He could force push them or he could draw his lightsaber.. No, no those wouldn’t do. If anything they would just encourage the thugs to fight harder.. There was.. Yes that would work nicely.
Des painfully stood up strait and got back into a defensive stance. The thugs laughed, but he paid them no heed. In one swift motion he took a step foreword and threw out his hand, which froze the thug’s arms and legs in Desac's strongest stasis field. “Hey what the hell is this?! Lemmee go!! HEY!! My Legs!!” One of the thugs shouted in panic, the others didn’t look far off from shouting as well. “Heh, I don’t think so.. Don't worry, it'll wear off.. eventually...” Des said out of breath, then turned to see how Arwen had faired with her lot.

After Arwen sent the large Devaronian flying, the thugs halted for a second. This gave her the time she needed to position herself on their flank. Like a flurry, she moved in kicking, smacking and punching the thugs, force pushing the last four on the end back against a dumpster, knocking them unconsicous. Casting an eye towards Desac, she saw his three thugs stuck in a stasis. She sent him a quick smile and turned to deal with those who were getting up and hadn't quite had their fill.
